This time Mercedes car catches fire on street in VietNam

A Mercedes E300 sedan suddenly started burning and was then completely destroyed Sunday afternoon when it was carrying four people on Nguyen Xien Street in Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi.
Ngo Van Nam, one of the four, told local newswire VnExpress that they had noticed a burning smell shortly before seeing smoke rise from the front.
They immediately got out of the vehicle which was engulfed in flames 15 minutes later, Nam said.
The four-wheel drive had become a sheer mass of metal, with its front and rear windshields entirely broken, when fire-fighters were called in.
“This is a second-hand car I bought from an acquaintance in 2006, but it had been registered 5 years earlier,” Ngo Van Ninh, the owner, revealed.

“I had never before seen any signs of explosion or fire on it, though.”
Ninh said they were heading for neighboring Nam Dinh Province, and had just traveled 15 kilometers before the fire broke out.

Earlier today, a small truck abruptly flamed while it was driving on the 91 National Road in the southwestern province of An Giang.
Fortunately, local residents alongside the road managed to extinguish the fire which had erupted on the external part of the cab. The truck was slightly damaged as a result.
The truck driver said he had detected some breakdown in the vehicle’s oil nozzle a few days ago.
The past few weeks witnessed many weird incidents in which vehicles unexpectedly burst into flames when they were traveling.
A Honda-produced Lead scooter burned down Friday in the northern province of Hung Yen when it was carrying two women.
Passers-by failed to put out the fire and the bike was totally demolished, but no injuries or casualties were recorded.
On Wednesday, a white Attila Elizabeth scooter made by Taiwan-based SYM Motors caught fire all of a sudden in the northern province of Thanh Hoa.
There was simply minor damage to it as locals successfully subdued the flame.
One day earlier, another SYM scooter rapidly burned down to ash when a man was riding it through Chuong Duong Bridge in the capital. The rider, luckily, escaped the flame safe and sound.
An SH motorbike, a Honda luxury line, was ablaze out of the blue Monday in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh District while its owner and passers-by just stood by helplessly.
A similar, though deadly, accident occurred in the northern province of Bac Ninh on December 1 when a Honda classical bike, the Dream II, suddenly exploded into flames, killing a 29-year-old pregnant woman and her 4-year-old daughter.
